Cross-country starts new roster with strong performances at Dolan Duals


LOCK HAVEN, Pa. –Penn State’s cross country program got its season off to a good start Friday night at the Dolan Duals hosted by Lock Haven at the West Branch Cross Country Course.

The Nittany Lions had strong season-opening performances in the women’s 4k race and the men’s 6k race.

“It’s been a great start to the season for Penn State Cross Country,” the head coach said. John Gondak. “Both teams followed the race plan and got the results we wanted. Most people gave their best at this course tonight which meant they worked through the summer. Thanks to Lock Haven for hosting us and we can’t wait to host the next weekend!”

In the opening race, Faith Of March crossed the finish line first with a 4km time of 13:54.9.

Madaline Ullom and Sophie Toti shortly followed at 14:02.8 and 14:03.7.

On the men’s side, Brenden Colwell started his 2022 season with an 18:01.2 win in the 6k race. Teammates Kevin Haas and Justin Healey concluded their races shortly after at 18:04.2 and 18:05.8.
