Murray State Football offers a trio of great football camps for kids of all ages
It’s time for fun and football lessons in July at the Coach Dean Hood Camps at Roy Stewart Stadium in Murray, Kentucky.
There are three camps during the month, including two for high school and college players and another for kids that will give them a fun taste of the big game.
Dead Hood Camp 1 & 2
Camp dates are one day camps on July 11 and 18 and open to children entering ninth grade this fall, through high school. JUCO and transfer portal players are welcome. The cost is $60 for each player. Players must check in at 10 a.m. at the main gate (Gate-3) of Roy Stewart Stadium on Gilbert Graves Drive. Camp starts at 11 a.m.
Dean Hood Football camps are open to all post players and specialists. It is highly recommended that a player pre-register online to expedite the registration process. Walk-in registrations are still accepted. Campers are encouraged to bring crampons to wear during camp.
Camps include metrics and timing testing, one-on-one instruction, position-specific technique improvement, and drill work. All exercises will take place in a controlled competition environment.
Dean Hood Youth Camp Expo
This July 15 event is a free camp for children in kindergarten through those entering fifth grade. Parents must be present throughout the duration of the camp which takes place from 11am. Parents can register their children from 10:15 a.m. at door-3 of the Roy Stewart Stadium on Gilbert Graves Drive.
The camp will focus on the basics of being a successful player. Murray State football coaches and players will offer instruction in the fundamentals of offense, defense and special teams. Events will include fun activities such as football skills and drills, games, relay races and the fastest kid in camp.
It is recommended that campers bring sunscreen, hats and cleats/sports shoes.
Murray State Football Tickets
For the 50th consecutive season, historic Roy Stewart Stadium will host one of Western Kentucky’s greatest fall traditions: Murray State Football. This season, fans will have several options as to how they choose to enjoy the Racers’ third season under the head coach. Dean Hood and their final at the Ohio Valley Conference. Season tickets can be purchased by calling the box office at (270) 809-3000 or by visiting the box office in Lower Concourse “A” of the CFSB Center. The Murray State box office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Located in Murray, Kentucky, the Murray State University Department of Athletics is a member of NCAA Division I and plays in the championship football subdivision. The Racers have 15 programs including men’s teams for baseball, basketball, cross country, soccer and golf and women’s teams for basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, softball, tennis , track and field and volleyball, as well as a mixed team of riflemen. . Currently a member of the Ohio Valley Conference, the Racers join the Missouri Valley Conference on July 1, 2022. The Racers will become a member of the Missouri Valley Football Conference in 2023.
