Ecco partners with Henrik Stenson and Erik van Rooyen for two new shoe models | Golf equipment: clubs, balls, bags

European shoe brand Ecco is not afraid to hand over the reins to its ambassadors from time to time. The Ecco golf shoe collection was put on the map by Fred Couples at the 2010 Masters when he released the Ecco Street golf shoe – a moment that largely honors the hybrid golf shoe movement that led to the transformation of golf shoes into sneakers and dress shoes. more popular than traditional silhouettes. The brand has now teamed up with ambassadors Henrik Stenson and Erik van Rooyen to design two new golf shoes to be released this spring.

Both shoes are custom versions of the BIOM H4, a waterproof leather golf shoe available in both men’s and women’s sizes and known for its lightweight construction and removable and washable foam sole. Stenson’s design plays its “Iceman” nickname with a predominantly white upper accented by translucent blue details that give it a “frozen” look. It also has a unique tongue logo which reads “Henrik Stenson The Iceman” for an extra-personalized touch.

“I am very happy to partner with Ecco Golf again to create another ‘Iceman’ style,” said Stenson. “I really wanted to make it look like you are walking with ice on the sole of your shoe, hence the vivid colors of white and blue.”

This design follows a shoe that Stenson collaborated on with the brand, available now. The S-Three Iceman golf shoe has a black upper with blue detailing on the heel and personalized Stenson tag on the tongue. This is a low-profile, waterproof golf shoe made of breathable leather and features versatile traction that can easily take the shoe off the course.

Known for his avant-garde look and his willingness to push the boundaries of style, van Rooyen has designed a shoe that will go well with his now infamous jogger sets. Scheduled for its debut this weekend at the Sentry Tournament of Champions, the upper of the shoe is black and white with a modern red and blue pattern on the midsole. The translucent sole features a mixed red and blue design that adds a welcome splash of color to the predominantly monochrome shoe.

“I really like being different and innovative on the golf course, and I think my design really mimics that feeling for me,” said van Rooyen.
