Edel Kennedy of Wexford wins FAI Women’s Cup final

Edel Kennedy scored an unforgettable goal in the second half of the EVOKE.ie FAI Women’s Cup Final against Shelbourne to seal the cup.

The Youths midfielder had to play in the goal last weekend, but she returned to her usual spot as the cup decider.

The Wexford side were already a goal for good in the second half thanks to excellent teamwork put in place by the searing Ellen Molloy.

The teenager was again in third place at Wexford as she clamored for another assist.

As Molloy set the stage for his fellow midfielder, much of the applause has to go to Kennedy for the finish.

Despite the awkward ball for the experienced midfielder, she still managed an excellent finish from the edge of the D.

The goal put Wexford 3-1 ahead and there was no way a rival of Shels could hold out to win the cup.
