WHEELING – Zach Zdonczyk wants to provide residents of the Ohio Valley with a high-quality experience while sitting in the barber chair. His new boutique, Luxury Lifestyle Grooming Lounge, is opening and he wants to get to know the community and help some of his children get ready to go back to school.

Zdonczyk will host a back-to-school barbecue and backpack at the Luxury Lifestyle Grooming Lounge, located at 586 National Road in the Fulton neighborhood of Wheeling, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

Although he won’t be doing haircuts during the event, people can pick up hot dogs, burgers, chips and soft drinks and kids can pick up new backpacks with school supplies while stocks last. Zdonczyk said he wanted to take the time today to learn a little more about the people in the neighborhood.

Zdonczyk is not new to the area. He grew up in the Ohio Valley and returned many times to see his family. He came from Atlanta in March to give away free haircuts at the Textured Hair Expo at Bridge Street Middle School.

Ultimately, he said, he wanted to come back for good, not just to be closer to his family, but to offer his styling skills to that community.

“I saw the growth of Wheeling when I visited,” he said. “People are used to coming in, getting treatment and leaving. I wanted to bring more than that. I want to give them a more comfortable experience,” he added. “We’re here to build a much better relationship with the clientele, to make them think, when I walk through the door, my hour with you is all about me.”

For now, Zdonczyk and his business partner Luke Steed will focus on haircuts and shaves, offering intricate styles and designs to customers. Zdonczyk hopes to branch out in the future, perhaps into facials and, for women, eyelash and nail treatments.

Broadwater Properties’ Travis Broadwater and Posh Hair and Nail Studio’s Jen Stricklin helped donate school supplies, Zdonczyk said.

“I’m just trying to meet new people and along the way help anyone who might not be able to afford all these school supplies right now,” he said. .

Luxury Lifestyle hours of operation will be 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday.
