As announced on August 8, Virginia Tech Athletics has switched to mobile tickets for all paid sporting events in an effort to provide a more convenient, sustainable and secure game day experience.

The majority of Tech Women’s Basketball Season Tickets and all Partial Plan and Single Game tickets will be delivered digitally. Cassell Coliseum premium seating and parking passes will remain physical tickets. Fans are strongly encouraged to download their tickets before arriving at the arena to ensure the fastest possible entry experience.

With the introduction of an improved HokieSports mobile app and the My Account portal, managing tickets on a mobile device has never been easier. For more details, including step-by-step instructions and an FAQ, please visit

In an effort to improve the flow and speed of transactions, Cassell Coliseum concession stands will transition to cashless payment this season and require a debit or credit card for purchase. This convenient adjustment designed to minimize waiting times eliminates currency exchange and manipulation as the overwhelming majority of concession stand purchases are already made by credit card.

Fans who don’t have access to a debit or credit card should consider purchasing a prepaid credit card from Kroger before the game. For those who wish to continue paying in cash, the Hokie Shop will have a limited number of gift cards available for purchase in cash.

After making its Lane Stadium debut this fall, fan-friendly concession pricing will be implemented at Cassell Coliseum this season. Fans can expect to find classic items like hot dogs, popcorn, nachos, Coca-Cola fountain drinks, and bottled water available for $ 2.50 each.

Additionally, a selection of beers and seltzer will remain available for purchase at the Cassell Coliseum. All fans will be required to present appropriate identification to purchase alcoholic beverages.

Virginia Tech’s clear bag policy remains in place for Cassell Coliseum. This policy helps provide a safer environment for spectators and speeds up the entry of fans into the arena. Approved bags are limited to:

  • Clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bags and not exceeding 12 “x 6” x12 “
  • Clear plastic gallon freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar)
  • Small pouch approximately the size of a hand, with or without a handle or strap and no more than 4.5 “x 6.5”

In accordance with current guidelines for wearing masks at college events, Virginia Tech will require masks regardless of vaccination status for all indoor events planned for Cassell Coliseum. These events include wrestling matches, men’s and women’s basketball games, and the early fall 2021 ceremonies. Masks are already mandatory for volleyball games in Cassell.

Proof of vaccination or a negative test will not be required to attend an event at Cassell Coliseum. Masks can be removed when people are actively eating or drinking.

Parking for Tech Women’s Basketball season pass holders has not changed for the upcoming season. Permits will still be required to park in lots 1, 4 and 8. Parking is on a first come, first served basis.

For fans without a parking permit, a public parking lot for home basketball games will be located in the stadium field and in the large, fenced residential parking lot next to Duck Pond Drive (the cage). Vehicles should be parked in the large section of the cage closest to the duck pond. Accessible parking is available in the Lot Coliseum. Fans who park in public parking lots Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. will have to pay to park using the university’s ParkMobile platform.
