The Duchesses have a different take on their wardrobe, evident from their first moments in the spotlight. While Kate, now Duchess of Cambridge, chose a stylish coat and scarf for her first appearance with William on February 24, 2011, Meghan wore ripped jeans and a man-style shirt.
Harriet said: “When it comes to more formal events they both stick to pointed stilettos so in that sense they’re quite similar. They also both opt for neutral tones .”
However, women also have their signatures. Meghan adores lace-up stilettos, with some of her favorites coming from Aquazurra, an Italian brand.
A pair of shoes from the brand costs on average around £750.
Harriet said: “Meghan was seen wearing a simple lace-up heel, which is one of our favorite style types and one of our best-selling styles.”
The Duchess of Cambridge, meanwhile, has a signature shoe for the summer months.
Harriet continued: “Kate loves summer espadrilles, a wedge is a great option for a stylish yet comfortable look.
“Kate has also been sent for a more adventurous print or embellishment for formal events, but stays true to her love of simple pumps.”
Kate is known to adore the Spanish brand Castañer. A Spanish family business, the brand has been creating wedge espadrilles since 1927.
Harriet also told Express.co.uk how Meghan’s style has changed after “no more separation from the royal family”.
The expert explained: “Meghan Markle was first an actress, and since becoming a member of the royal family, she should have followed a certain protocol when it came to her outfits.
“However, she has always remained true to herself, each outfit reflects and suits the personality of the Duchess.
“She’s always opted for more solid, neutral colors that are more laid back. Especially now that she and Harry have more separation between themselves and the Royal Family.”
