Kelela took a professional approach to dressing for Salvatore Ferragamo’s Spring 2023 show at Milan Fashion Week.

The “Take Me Apart” musician arrived in the red sand-filled courtyard of the Archbishop’s Seminary on Corso Venezia on Saturday wearing a fitted black blazer dress. Featuring a mini-length hemline and pointed lapels, the sleek piece made a dynamic statement in its austere minimalism. Featuring a slightly layered front hem and curved seams, the dress also seemed to effortlessly mimic the look of an oversized blazer. The singer’s ensemble was completed with silver earrings, a round “K”-shaped pendant and Ferragamo’s black leather upright handbag.

As for shoes, Kelela stuck to a set of daring heeled mules. The “LMK” singer’s black leather style featured slim 3-4 inch heels, with elongated rounded toes. Nine thin straps on each shoe created a smooth cutout silhouette, completing the pair with a barely there effect. The ensemble amped up her outfit with a nonchalant 90s flair, especially her edgy take on the “naked shoe” trend that swept through the footwear industry this summer.

Salvatore Ferragamo’s Spring 2023 collection featured the debut of Maximilian Davis, the 27-year-old designer known for his own eponymous label. Inspired by Hollywood and Ferragamo’s rich heritage, Davis’ collection pays homage to the formality of old Hollywood and the modernity of today’s movie capital. Sunset-worthy gradients and hues of red, orange and yellow were draped in sheer tops and dresses, with stark contrast through sheer paneled dresses and matte leather micro-mini shorts, jackets and bandeau tops in black and white tones. The collection was rounded out with equally sharp flat mules for men and women, as well as the launch of new matching strappy sandals with molded heels modeled after the brand’s circular Gancini emblem.
