Prajwal Dev and Adil Kalyanpur of Karnataka won the men’s tennis doubles final; Maharashtra’s Rutuja Bhosale and Vaishnavi Adkar won the women’s final

Prajwal Dev and Adil Kalyanpur of Karnataka defeated Dhruv Hirpara and Madhwin Kamat of Gujarat 6-3, 6-4 in the final to become the men’s doubles champions in the National Games tennis arena here on Tuesday.

Dev and Kalyanpur defeated Hirpara and Kamat in the ninth game. The Gujarat pair saved a match point in the 10 e, but the Karnataka duo won the match on the next point.

In the women’s doubles final, Rutuja Bhosale and Vaishnavi Adkar of Maharashtra defeated Sharmada Balu and Soha Sadiq of Karnataka 6-4, 6-4 to win the title.

Zeel Desai defeated Rutuja Bhosale 6-0 as the latter retired with cramps in the women’s singles semi-finals. She will meet Sharmada, who beat West Bengal’s Yubrani Banerjee 6-0, 6-3 in the semi-finals in the summit clash.

Maharashtra’s Arjun Kadhe defeated Prajwal Dev 7-5, 7-5 in the men’s singles semi-final. He will face Suresh Kumar of Tamil Nadu, who recorded a hard-fought 6-7, 6-2, 6-2 victory over G. Manish of Karnataka in the last four, in the final.
