Christmas came early in Hollywood this year.
Santa Claus was greeting guests at the gate of the Hollywood Athletic Club in Los Angelesin California, and dozens of Christmas trees, adorned with white lights and off-white Christmas decorations, lined the hallways of the famous Sunset Boulevard location.
Tuesday night, luxury retailer Neiman Marcus held its annual party to unveil the party 2022 campaignentitled Make the Moment, and its 2022 Christmas book. In the spotlight, department stores eight fantastic gifts which are part of the luxury retailer’s campaign. A portion of all fantastic giveaways benefit selected charities across the country.
Inside the two-story event center, built in 1924, different rooms each contained a fantastic giveaway showcased.
In one area was a Cartier tiara, circa 1932, illuminated inside a display case. The tiara, with over 600 diamonds and worth $3.2 million, could be turned into a necklace.
In another area was a custom Maserati Grecale Trofeo SUV painted hot pink in collaboration with Mattel’s Barbie. The price was $330,000.
Upstairs, Scottie Pippen sat in a room that featured a basketball in a plexiglass case in the corner. He was promoting the hoop shooting giveaway with him and his son Scotty Pippen Jr., who recently signed a two-way deal with the Los Angeles Lakers. The experiment was worth $333,333.
In the next room, Jim Marvin sat in a comfortable chair next to elaborately decorated Christmas trees whose lights cast a warm glow around the room. For the holidays, a buyer can purchase a custom selection of holiday decorations by Marvin, a bespoke master decorator for special occasions, for $190,000.
The Neiman Marcus party was hosted by actress Tessa Thompson. Dressed in a fancy black suit, Thompson said she thought the event was dazzling. “It’s great fun to get into the festive spirit,” she said.
If she had to choose one of the eight fantastic gifts, she would choose the connoisseur moment, which was a Hestan Napa Valley luxury weekend for $175,000, which included dinner at The French Laundry in Yountville, Calif., run by chef Thomas Keller, and cooking classes with the celebrity chef. “I love fantastical gifts that are about experience,” said the actor, who recently appeared in ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ starring Chris Hemsworth.
Other guests in attendance included Lupita Nyong’o, Folake Olowofoyeku, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Thomas Keller, Kathy Hilton, Matt Rogers, Colman Domingo, Neiman Marcus President Ryan Ross and several other Neiman Marcus executives.
This is the second time the Neiman Marcus Fantastic Gift Celebration has taken place in Los Angeles. Last year, the event took place at Paramount Pictures workshop ground. Traditionally, the big reveal party took place in New York.
