Shoplifting suspect caught holding bags: North Olmsted police blotter

Shortly after noon on December 14, police arrested a man accused of stealing women’s handbags from the Dillard department store.

An officer working at Dillard spotted the man placing a Coach handbag valued at $ 75, a second Coach handbag valued at $ 295 and a Dooney and Bourke handbag from worth $ 398 in a brown paper bag he was carrying. The officer arrested the suspect as he attempted to leave the store and enter the mall.

Police discovered the suspect also had a second bag containing $ 299.50 of JCPenney’s merchandise.

Officers also recovered a dozen pills from the suspect’s jacket pocket which were sent to a lab for analysis.

Police charged the man with misdemeanor theft and possession of criminal tools.

Shoplifting: Brookpark Road

At 2:40 p.m. on December 15, police arrested a woman for petty theft after a loss prevention officer saw her registering items at a self-service cash register, where she did not scan and paid for many items before packing them.

The theft amounted to $ 81.20, according to a police report.

The police charged the woman with petty theft.

Minor theft: Brookpark Road

At 1:20 p.m. on December 17, police arrested a woman for petty theft after she was accused of failing to scan numerous items, including a blender while checking an automatic cash register at Walmart.

The total value of the items taken was over $ 137, according to a police report.

Officers also found Christmas decorations in her purse.

The woman was charged with petty theft.
