NORMAN – Oklahoma’s No. 2 women’s tennis team is set to wrap up the regular season this weekend with its final conference at No. 12 Oklahoma State on Friday, before returning to Norman to face No. 5 Pepperdine Sunday.
Sunday’s game against Pepperdine is scheduled for noon CT, with senior Marceline Podlinska be honored before the game for Senior Day.
MATCH DAY BASICS
The 2022 Sooners matches at the Headington Family Tennis Center will be open to the public and free. Due to the elimination of concessions, fans are encouraged to bring their own food and beverages. OU also has a clear bag policy in place.
The first serve against Oklahoma State is scheduled for 4 p.m. CT Friday. Live stats can be found here, while a live stream can be found here.
Sunday’s match against Pepperdine is scheduled for noon CT. Fans can follow the action with live stats or watch a live stream.
A free pizza will be offered to fans on Sunday, along with a chance to win a clothing pack and a TV.
LAST TIME OUT
The Sooners have won back-to-back doubles wins. Ivana and Carmen Corley won the first court against No. 68 duo Camilla Bossi and Ting-Pei Chang, 6-4, while Anchisa Chanta and Dana Guzman clinched the doubles point in third place, 7-5, ahead of Kendall Kovick and Michaela Kucharova.
The match went to singles, where the Sooners took all six courts. Senior and No. 65 Ivana Corley finished first on court four, beating Camilla Bossi 6-1, 6-4. First-year student Anchisa Chanta was next with a 6-2, 6-2 win on court three over Ting-Pei Chang. To win the match, junior and n°17 Layne Sleep dominated on the upper court, eliminating Anastasia Bovolskaia 6-2, 6-2.
Play continued on the remaining three courts. Junior and No. 41 Carmen Corley picked up the court four win over Kendall Kovick, 7-6 (10-3), 6-2.
The Sooners travel to Stillwater to take on Oklahoma State for their final regular season road game on Friday, April 15 at 4 p.m. CT.
