LAFAYETTE, Louisiana (KLFY) The new year started with a PALE for two families at Notre-Dame de Lourdes Hospital for Women and Children in Lafayette and one family at Ochsner Lafayette General.
According to OLOL, two families welcomed their new members one minute apart.
“In an unexpected surprise, we welcomed our first two babies of 2022 one minute apart this morning,” OLOL said in a statement.
Octavia Rankin, 28, of New Iberia, welcomed her second son, Lacen Rankin, at 6:37 a.m.
Lacen weighed 7 pounds, 9 ounces, and 18 ½ inches when he was born.
A minute later, the hospital announced that at 6:38 a.m., Kirsten Gumbs, 24, of Lafayette, was welcoming her second son, Kadyn Washington, who weighed 7 pounds, 4 ounces, and 20 ½ inches when he was born.
Moms said their biggest wish is for their sons to have lives filled with endless possibilities and possibilities.
At Ochsner Lafayette General, Miss Manasseh Glory Cooley was born at 4:14 am weighing 7 pounds 8 ounces.
“Mum Lacey said two weeks ago her aunt had called her and told her she dreamed of giving birth while on vacation – it turns out her dream has come true!” Said the hospital.
Each year, the first baby born at OLG receives a new stroller, diaper bag and other baby items.
“Manasseh is ready for 2022 and the world.”
At the Baby Catcher birthing center in Lafayette, little Miss Tess Leigh Hilton was born at 4:45 pm on Saturday, January 1, 2022. She weighed 9 pounds and 21 inches. Her parents, Skyler and Cory are “over the moon in love”.
